Company Overview

Liquid Cargo Terminal (LCT) has been established at Port Qasim on Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis by FELDA WESTBURY Qasim (Pvt) Limited (FWQ).   FWQ is a Joint Venture between FELDA of Malaysia and WESTBURY Group of Pakistan.

The FELDA-WESTBURY partnership has resulted in construction of projects of national interest and is proud to play a vital role in the development of Pakistan.  The partnership has been successful in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Pakistan.  With the construction of LCT, Pakistan has taken a big jump towards efficient, systematic and hygienic handling of liquid cargo.

LCT is the first dedicated Edible Oils Jetty in Private Sector, capable of berthing vessels (Tankers) up to 35,000 DWT carrying liquid cargoes of Edible Oils / Molasses etc.

It is a state-of-the-art Terminal constructed through internationally renowned Marine Contractor – STFA Marine Construction Company of Turkey for Civil and Structural Works besides local Contractors of repute engaged for Mechanical and Electrical Works.

LCT has been commissioned and commenced operations with effect from 30th March 2009.

Significant importance is attached to LCT as it adds to the infrastructure development of the Port Qasim, with practically no waiting time for vessel berthing, hence avoidance of demurrage and quick turnaround due to higher discharge rate.

Port Qasim has become the hub for edible oils import, handling, storage, and refining in Pakistan.  Presently, Port Qasim has the pride to handle about 90% of the total import of edible oils into Pakistan predominantly from Malaysia.

Objective

LCT’s objective is to provide efficient, economical, safe and secure berthing of bulk liquid tankers and services to its customers through effective utilization of resources.
